PowerSight offers a powerful mix of reliability, accuracy, and capability. Even though it is unlikely that your system will need a repair under warranty, we recommend you purchase an extended warranty. Our renewable warranty program provides an affordable way to keep your analysis system operating at its peak level for as long as you want to keep it, thereby achieving the lowest cost of ownership. The benefits of an extended warranty are:

Free Calibration

As long as you are under our warranty, you are entitled to one free calibration with one set of voltage and current probes per year. Although your PowerSight meter’s accuracy is stable, it is good practice to obtain annual NIST-traceable calibrations. [Please note: You must make prior arrangement before you return your unit for a calibration.] [Please note: If you require recording of actual measurements during the calibration process, an additional charge applies.] We recommend that you return your meter with your current probes so they can be calibrated with the meter.

Free Software Upgrades

PowerSight Manager (PSM-A) software is regularly upgraded. Minor and major feature enhancements are added, as well as fixes and improvements for the ease of use. As long as you are under warranty, you are entitled to free downloads of the latest versions of PSM-A. This will keep you compatible with Windows versions 10 and newer (older versions have also been compatible, but are no longer guaranteed).

Free Firmware Upgrades

The software that runs PowerSight (the “firmware”) may be upgraded over time. Minor and major feature enhancements are added, as well as fixes and improvements to the speed of operation and for the ease of use. As long as you are under warranty, you are entitled to a free upgrade to the latest version of firmware. [Please note: Owners of PS250, PS3000, and PS4000 must make prior arrangement before returning their meters for a firmware upgrade. All other models of meters (e.g. PS4550) can upgrade via the internet.]

Free Warranty Repair

PowerSight is reliable, but while under warranty, any defect or failure of the product that is due to a defect in design or manufacture will be covered. Other failures that occur during normal use and normal wear and tear (such as battery replacement) may also be covered. Covered repairs are done at no cost to the customer, once the product is returned to us. [Please note: You must make prior arrangement before you return your unit for a warranty repair.].

Limited Free Hardware Upgrades

Occasionally there are minor hardware upgrades that Summit Technology will choose to perform on returned units. These are free upgrades. Major hardware upgrades are optional and are paid for separately from the warranty. For instance an upgrade of a PS3000 from hardware version 4 to hardware version 5 costs $1000.

Limited Paid Shipping

Systems that are returned for calibration or repair under new product warranty or extended warranty will be returned to any address in the USA using a shipment method of Summit Technology’s choice at no charge to the customer. The customer will pay for return freight if a different shipping method is chosen (usually an expedited method), if the shipment is directed to an address outside of the USA, or if the system is under a renewal warranty.
